Frequently asked questions

How often are backups taken?

Frequency depends on your plan. Most clients have daily backups at minimum, with critical servers backed up more frequently. We configure it based on how much data you can afford to lose.

Where are backups stored?

Cloud backups go to encrypted offsite storage. We can also set up a local backup appliance for faster recovery of large datasets. Most clients use both.

How long does a full restore take?

Individual files take minutes. A full server restore depends on the data volume but typically a few hours. We test restores regularly so there are no surprises.

Will backups protect us from ransomware?

Yes, if configured correctly. We keep backup copies that ransomware can't reach. If you get hit, we restore from a clean backup taken before the infection.
